Humphrey

Me & Humphrey (anyone who sees this will be shocked to see me holding the hamster) He's very soft, & believe it or not kinda cute, he grew on me a bit.

Shelby is in love with Humphrey, she was soooo excited to get to take him home. We put him in the little plastic ball, man he can motor all over the place. It was fun watching him, but hard not to step on the little bugger. Back to school for him in the morning, Shelby is dreading it already. So I'm guessing we will be bringing him home again another time.

Another bites the dust!

Saturday night I got together with a couple of my girlfriends. On Wednesday is my buddy Sheila's 40th birthday. Millie had hers in October, now Sheila, I'm next in July. We had alot of fun it was just girls, we giggled, played games, ate, good times. I was kinda of a party pooper though, I started yawning about 10:15, I think I left about 11 or so (not the old days that's for sure) Also in attendance, Sheila's sisters, aunt, cousin, & Mom, I learned alot about Pat I didn't know :0) (Don't worry Pat what happens with "the girls" stays with "the girls") The older I get the more I realize husbands, kids, parents, siblings, pets...etc... are awesome, but..... your girlfriends man they keep the world going round. I have several really good girlfriends, I'm so grateful for all of you, I love you man!!!!

Baby Update

So week 11 our baby was the size of a kumquat (which I had to google never heard of or seen a kumquat before, learn something new everyday)
Week 12 The size of a large plum.
Week 13 The size of a peach. I've been having a lot of dizzy spells lately along with a twinge of a headache one in awhile. Called the Dr. they said drink more fluids, eat more protein & more often. (I don't know if it's possible but I will try) The endo guy uped my synthroid so that could be a factor also. Who knows.
This is the last week of the first trimester (yeah!!!) 2nd trimester here we come!!!!

head on the left, 2 little arms & body in the middle, and 1 little foot! We saw our little one moving his/her arms around. We saw & heard the heartbeat (175) Everything looked good & I was surprised we could see the baby so well. Shelby was upset it was over soooo quickly! She loved it though! We feel a little more relieved now, since we heard the heartbeat, & saw our little M&M. More to come later!

Fun With Eva

Couple of Saturday's ago, we went to watch Big Daddy bowl. Our buddy Everett is on Big Daddy's team, he has always been one of Shelby's favorite people. Shelby has always called him Eva. Here's Ev with Shelby's hat on strikin' a pose!

We got to watch Leah for awhile a couple of weeks ago! We (Big Daddy & I) had sooooo much fun with her, she was cracking us up!

10 weeks

This week is 10 weeks, I get updates by email from several places, telling you about the growth of the baby & they compare it to size of food! 2 weeks ago a blueberry, last week a green olive, this week a prune.
A prune huh not a very cute visual. Tomorrow is our first ultrasound fun! Were taking Shelby out of school early so she can go with us, she is soooooo excited. i keep having dreams (or nightmares depending on how you look at it) that I'm having twins or triplets (yikes) so I can't wait to go tomorrow & make sure that it's only ONE!!!! Will let everyone know how it goes!

Yesterday was report card day! This is my daughter the genius! :0) Last quarter she got 10 E's, this quarter she got 12 E's so she was thrilled. Plus she got rave reviews from her teacher Mrs. Flemming, & her TAG teacher Mrs. Bach! We could not be more proud of our girl, way to go Shelby girl!

I had an outfit kinda like Shelby's (hat included) in the 80's (the good old days)

Big Daddy won tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters off the radio. He won 4 tickets so Shelby invited Lexi Loo Hoo to go with! Not for long soon we'll be a family of four! Other than a little melt down (by Shelby) we all had a great time! They were great, crackin' us all up! Shelby wanted a basketball REALLY, REALLY BAD! So Daren took her to see how much it was. Ummmm...$25 no thanks, what a rip off!

Justice Girl!

Shelby got 5 gift cards for Justice (the girliest, sparkliest store I've ever seen) So we went to the mall to spend her money. She picked a bunch of stuff, then gave me a fashion show (which is exciting for me she doesn't like clothes shopping normally) So she had her neon tye dyed Peace sign shirt on, her peace sign scarf, Taylor Swift boots, she was stylin' already then...... off to Justice. She loves hats, they had sparkly black, silver, gold. She says "Ummmmmm........they're not colorful enough, so she found this gem of a hat with every color imaginable on it, too cute huh? She also got a peace sign scarf (silvery & sparkly), another tye dyed peace sign shirt, & red ruffly dress with sequins. My baby loves her some color wow! We had a great time shopping, we had lunch, then she had ice cream at Whitey's for dessert. Productive & fun day! This was the end of the trip, we were worn out after 3 1/2 hours of shopping! Pheeeewwwww!

Can you tell what we have on our mind these days? We stayed home this year (1st time in awhile) We played games, ate snacks, & had a good time just the three of us. It's 12:12 I'm ready for bed NOW!
Here's hoping to all our friends & family have a happy, healthy, & fabulous year. I have a feeling this will be a roller coaster ride of year for the Fick family!
